Welcome Coach Tristan!

I am pleased to share that Coach Tristan Lyles will be joining Excel Soccer Skills Development. Coach Tristan will be working regularly directly with Coach Tibi and will also be launching his own Speed and Acceleration program on Sundays at our facility. Many athletes may have met Coach Tristan already.

Coach Tristan has coached the JV team of University School for the past two years and started coaching at Excel Soccer Skills in early November 2022. Additionally, Coach Tristan has experience in speed and agility under Coach Kim Curtis and Coach Quinn Aiken. As a soccer athlete, he has several career honors at John Carroll University including: Co-Captain: 2017; Program Defender of the Year: 2017; All-OAC 1st Team: 2017; All-Ohio Third Team: 2017; All-OAC Second Team: 2016; All-OAC Honorable Mention: 2015.

While at John Carroll University, he was a consistent starter on the men’s soccer team and was a main staple of a defense that helped contribute in an OAC leading 10 Blue Streak shutouts in 2017. In 2015, he was named All-OAC honorable mention as a sophomore. Coach Tristan also brings valuable experience from his youth career competing in leagues such as: USYS National League, Midwest Regional League & Ohio South State League.

Most importantly, Coach Tristan shares Coach Tibi’s coaching philosophy to ensure athletes understand the technical, tactical, mental and physical aspects of soccer. He is a positive coach and values the importance of communication on and off the field.
