We are excited to have Strength Coach and Educator Dan Dvorak coming to Excel Soccer Skills to work with our athletes on strength and speed training. His experience and expertise are well known in the industry and we are proud to work with him in 2025. Both Dan and Tibi have worked with each other for almost two decades. Their work together goes back to the time for more than a decade of building the most successful team in Laurel high school soccer women’s history.
As you know, Coach Tristan has offered speed and acceleration but this shows how much Excel Soccer Skills has grown in the past couple of years. Running training sessions throughout the season for 6 days per week takes up most of his time. This doesn’t give enough time for him to rest so that is why we have partnered with Dan Dvorak to provide these clinics.
We are pleased to launch the 2025 schedule for strength and speed. Excel Soccer Skills will be offering 4 series of 5-week clinics focused on speed, agility, and quickness offered by Strength Coach and Educator, Dan Dvorak.
Coach Dan provided this overview of the sessions:
"I have always been a teacher and educator first. I want the students to know why we are doing certain drills and skills. If they understand the "why," then there is more belief in it, and the better results they will get. After 25 years of training, I have learned that strength and speed are about finding the minimum effective dose. Speed comes down to 2 things- force production and mechanics = we will work on both every session.” - Dan Dvorak
Training all 3 phases of speed:
PHASE 1-acceleration- horizontal force production) - Your first few steps up to 15 yards.
PHASE 2-top end speed- vertical force production) - After 15 yards, when you reach peak speed.
PHASE 3-agility-lateral force production) - Moving in a variety of directions, but also having the ability to stop fast.
"The faster athlete has the advantage!" - Dan Dvorak
These 60 minute clinic sessions will be held on Sundays at 9:30 am. We will include ages 10 and above.
Clinic Dates:
Round 1: February 16, 23 and March 2, 9, 16th
Round 2: April 13, 27 and May 4, 11, 18th
